Best month for Kerala, Kashmir, Andaman, Goa, Rajasthan and Ooty

Pick the right month and the same trip feels completely different. Here is the quick answer for six favourites.

At a glance

• Kerala: September to March. Green and pleasant. Monsoon (June to August) is lush but very wet.
• Kashmir: snow from December to February; green valleys from March to June and September to October.
• Andaman: October to May for beaches and water sports. June to September is monsoon; ferries can be cancelled in bad weather.
• Goa: November to February is best. October and March are also good. June to September is monsoon: green, but rough sea and fewer beach shacks.
• Rajasthan: October to March. Summer is very hot.
• Ooty: October to June. Monsoon is green but wet.

• April / May: Kashmir, Andaman, Ooty.
• June: Kashmir, Ooty (early June).

• October: Kerala, Kashmir, Andaman, Goa, Rajasthan, Ooty.
• November / December: Kerala, Andaman, Goa, Rajasthan, Ooty, and Kashmir snow from December.

• Christmas and New Year week in Goa, Kerala and Rajasthan.
• December to February snow season in Gulmarg.
• Summer holidays (April to June) in Ooty, Kashmir and Andaman.
